Most buyers know the appearance they want long before they know the sign-industry material name. They describe carved grain, raised letters, a substantial border, a warm traditional finish or a rustic business sign—and they naturally call that a wood sign.

Our job is to preserve that visual goal while choosing construction that makes sense. Sometimes natural wood is appropriate. For many exterior projects, high-density urethane (HDU) gives us a more predictable carving surface, lower water absorption and no natural knots or grain movement. The customer gets the wood-sign character they came for without being forced to become a materials expert first.

Why there is no honest one-number price

Two signs with the same width and height can require very different amounts of labor. A simple painted panel with V-carved lettering is not the same project as a layered logo sign with a routed woodgrain background, multiple colors and raised letters.

The biggest price drivers

Overall size, thickness, material yield, routing time, number of layers, artwork preparation, paint colors, faux-finishing labor, hardware, reinforcement, packaging and freight all matter. Quantity can reduce setup cost per sign when pieces repeat.

Can wood sign pricing be made for outdoor use?

Yes, when the substrate, coating system, construction and mounting are appropriate for exterior exposure. For many wood-look outdoor projects, HDU is recommended because it does not rot like natural lumber.

Do you have to use real wood?

No. Some buyers specifically want natural wood, while others simply want carved wood character. We select between natural wood, HDU and other suitable sign materials based on the desired appearance, exposure, size and maintenance expectations.

Can you work from my logo or a reference photo?

Yes. Vector artwork is preferred, but a clear logo file, sketch or reference photograph is enough to begin a review. We can tell you what additional artwork preparation is needed before production.

Do you ship nationwide?
