Most buyers know the appearance they want long before they know the sign-industry material name. They describe carved grain, raised letters, a substantial border, a warm traditional finish or a rustic business sign—and they naturally call that a wood sign.

Our job is to preserve that visual goal while choosing construction that makes sense. Sometimes natural wood is appropriate. For many exterior projects, high-density urethane (HDU) gives us a more predictable carving surface, lower water absorption and no natural knots or grain movement. The customer gets the wood-sign character they came for without being forced to become a materials expert first.

Start with the message

The sign needs a clear primary name or message before decorative decisions are made. Secondary copy should be smaller and should never compete with the main identification.

Provide the cleanest artwork available

Vector art is ideal. If you only have a PNG, JPG, business card or photo, send it anyway; we can tell you whether it is usable or needs to be redrawn.

Think about viewing distance

Letter height, stroke width and contrast are evaluated for where the sign will actually be seen, not just how it looks zoomed in on screen.

Proof before production

Custom sign work should move to fabrication only after the dimensions, wording, artwork, colors and major dimensional treatments are approved.

Before you order

Can wood sign artwork be made for outdoor use?

Yes, when the substrate, coating system, construction and mounting are appropriate for exterior exposure. For many wood-look outdoor projects, HDU is recommended because it does not rot like natural lumber.

Do you have to use real wood?

No. Some buyers specifically want natural wood, while others simply want carved wood character. We select between natural wood, HDU and other suitable sign materials based on the desired appearance, exposure, size and maintenance expectations.

Can you work from my logo or a reference photo?

Yes. Vector artwork is preferred, but a clear logo file, sketch or reference photograph is enough to begin a review. We can tell you what additional artwork preparation is needed before production.

Do you ship nationwide?
